A breakfast to remember
On our arrival, we were welcomed warmly by Katie and Pete, with a delightful offer of coffee and homemade treats in the garden. Our room offered stunning views of the mountains and was equipped with cozy furnishings, including two plush chairs perfect for unwinding. Each morning, we savored an incredible breakfast that was fully customizable, each dish freshly prepared. The hosts provided excellent local walking recommendations and made our stay feel personal and special.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our time, we did find the lack of a fridge in the room to be slightly inconvenient. it was worth noting that while the hotel is close to Bassenthwaite Lake, direct access wasn’t possible, prompting us to drive to other lovely walking spots instead.

Couple's peaceful retreat
I have to say, the garden view room was perfect, comfy beds, and the natural light made it feel really welcoming. Breakfast was a standout, a menu that caters to every need, and Pete’s cooked veggie meals were something special, can't forget that.
It wasn't exactly budget, but worth it.

i was absolutely shocked at the lack of even a small fridge in the room—so 2003! the location is near the lake but somehow not walkable, which is rather inconvenient. woudl ve been lovely to receive special treatment for such inconveniences, but i guess i was just another guest. i hesitated before posting this review but just couldn’t let it slide.

communal fridge access, comfortable lounge area, easy access to local walks
Weak shower pressure could definitely be improved!!! accessing walks around the lake was confusing, requiring better communication. Limited dining options nearby means expect a drive for variety!!!

Just had a fantastic stay at Link House! Views from the Superior Super King room were amazing, and breakfast by Pete was hands-down the best I've had—definitely sets you up for the day! A solid spot with a cozy feel, just wish the shower pressure was a bit stronger.

had a super warm welcome from peter and katie, they were so friendly and made us feel at home right away. the room was clean and tidy with nice views over the garden. breakfast was amazin, with a selection of cereals and a fresh hot meal cooked just for us. we loved the comfy beds and the garden area, even tho we didn’t get to use it much because of the weather. the location is great for exploring the lake district with walking trails nearby and loads of spots to visit.
the water pressure in the shower could’ve been better, and it would’ve been nice to have a small fridge in the room.

Great views from the room, but narrow parking area was a hassle.

Stunning countryside and mountain views from the superior super king room really made the stay worthwhile. The breakfast options were impressive, with a fantastic full English that set a high bar for all future meals.
While the location is picturesque, direct access to the lake wasn't available, which forced us to rely on driving to reach nearby walking spots. A small fridge in the room would be a welcome addition for keeping drinks cool, especially after a long day of hiking. The narrow drive to the parking area can be a bit tricky, so just be cautious.

Had a wonderful stay with cozy, comfy rooms and fresh milk provided which was a lovely touch! We enjoyed relaxing in the garden area and the cozy TV room after a long day of hiking. Just a heads up, while there’s no fridge in the room, you can use one downstairs, but don't let that stop you from visiting this gem! 😊

Exceptional Hosts and Unforgettable Breakfasts
Our stay was nothing short of delightful! Peter and Katie's genuine hospitality made us feel right at home, and their attention to detail was evident throughout our stay. The breakfast was simply outstanding. a wonderful mix of fresh fruits, cereals, and a delicious hot meal that left us looking forward to mornings. Plus, the stunning views from our room made our experience all the more magical. We would have loved a few more options for evening dining nearby, but that didn't take away from the overall enjoyment.
